Of course, they resembled rows of corn. Originally, this style was found in ancient Egypt where braids were piled on the head to resemble a halo. Cornrows can be braided in patterns or straight, and they can have beads going along them. There is a lot of versatility when it comes to wearing this hairstyle. You should keep in mind that it does take hours to get the braids into the hair.
